Match Report v Bmth Sports 27.09.15 BYFL Cup R1
The boys had a good warm up, unlike the opposition, who's coach didn't arrive until 10 mins before KO. And I mean the manager, not the vehicle.
A beautiful sunny afternoon to play football too & the pitch was not too bad. No dog poo anyway!
We started brightly, passing around like we know they can do. I had challenged them all to improve their game in individual ways & they seemed to relish the task.
The opposition gave us far too much space & time on the ball, which suited our passing game & we witnessed some lovely sweeping passing moves, leading to lots of first half goals.
First Jayden popped in 2 from right mid, then Xander crashed in with one from midfield. Then Elliott got a first half hat trick from centre forward. Two left foot ones & a rocket right.
Jamie had the midfield totally sewn up & with solid Zack & Tyler behind him, he spread some fantastic passes wide to Ben & Jayden/Ed.
Second half, we were pleased to have Emre back after injury & he was a bit rusty as he managed to miss three chances that would have given him a hat trick too.
Bmth Sports changed their keeper at half time & he was the difference in the second half. We took our foot off the gas a bit but without the keeper we would have got another 7 or 8. We had to settle for one more from Xander, a fab half volley that thundered into the net!
Sam, in goal, was having a good game. He didn't have much to do but kept his concentration well & did whats was needed. Unfortunately, when chasing back, Zack got a bobble or a heavy touch & put him in real trouble. Despite manic chasing back by Jamie & Elliott, their striker got a shot away & Sam could only palm it into his own net. He more than made up for it though with a super save from a header late on.
Final score 7-1. (although they reported 9-1)!

Match report v Salisbury Youth, Hants Cup 20/9/15
an early start for everyone as we travelled to Romsey for a 10am KO in our first ever game in the Hampshire Cup.
After a sneaky McD breakfast (one of the golden rules of away days!), I struggled to find the pitches and ended up on a very narrow, farm track!
The fog was very thick and when we eventually arrived at the pitches, you could barely see from one end to the other!
The boys had a good warm up and we're confident of putting up a better display than last week.
After an early flurry and shot from Callum , we went 1-0 down and then 2 and 3. the opposition were not a better team than us, they just wanted it more.
We did score before half time with a very nicely worked goal involving Ben, Xander and then a strong, off the bar, shot from Callum which fell behind the line. 3-1
At half time, we asked more of the boys and encouraged them to play more direct through balls to Elliott up front. Pleasingly , they did just that and we had a 15 min spell where we were clearly on top. after one of those through balls, Elliott squared the ball to Jamie who finished neatly. 3-2.
Their manager was panicking now and was screaming at his players. Another ball to Elliott and he toe poked it through to Ed who managed an attempt to chip the keeper as he came out. the ball rolled agonisingly towards the goal and just and we began to celebrate it was cleared away at the last second. how different things could have been if that had gone in.
After that, Salisbury got a second wind and made in 4-2 and then 5-2. to be honest we completely crumbled after that and the lads heads dropped. 6 and 7 quickly went in and then Zack got injured. 8 and then 9.
Final score 9-2. very flattering score line for them and u think we managed to beat ourselves for most of the game. the team need to learn to never give up and keep going right till the end.

Match Report v West Moors 06.09.15
Lucky last minute equaliser for the U12. 3-3.
Went 1-0 up in fast half with a great solo run from debutant Jamie. then debut goalie Sam made one of those howlers that only when keepers do it does it lead to a goal! so 1-1 half time. straight from the kick off, West Moors found themselves one on one with Sam and we were quickly 3-2 down! it took the lads a good while to get to grip with the energy and enthusiasm of the opposition but eventually after a nice diagonal, wide pass from Xander to Jayden ( at last boys!!), Jayden went through to score against his old team on his debut. West Moors were rattled then and we liked on the pressure despite being sloppy in the pass. we won a very late corner and after everyone went up for a last ditch attempt and after a panic few seconds, Tyler (in his words) Kung Fu'd it home. didn't play well but great fight back. point saved.
