MATCH REPORT 23/02/14 : Bransgore 1 v Greenfields 6
After a long lay off, it was great to be back playing on a Sunday morning. It looked like our lads were all itching to get going!
We started off very well & for 15 mins played some of the best possession football I have seen from us. This eventually paid off, against a 7 man defence, with a goal from Marco.
An interesting decision from the ref then led to a penalty against us which Joe got a touch on in goal, but it still hit the back of the net.
A challenge was laid down at half time to try to win the ball back within 5 seconds of losing it. This seemed to pay off as the lads were soon chasing down everything and we went 2-1 up with a neat finish from Emre. Marcos then added another & Emre got his brace with a deadly shot. There was no way back for Bransgore now.
A free kick on the edge of the box led to a cracking top corner effort from Ed who has now got 2 in 2 since joining in January. We were then awarded a penalty which was duly despatched by Captain for the day, Elliott.
Overall, a very pleasing performance where you could really see the recent training start to shine through.

GAME OFF - PITCH WATERLOGGED (again!)
Our scheduled match against Burton YFC this weekend (9th feb 2014) has been postponed due to the continued bad weather & the poor pitch conditions at our home ground.
Such a shame for the players as they are itching to show what they can do.

MATCH REPORT : FRIENDLY V KINGS PARK DYNAMOS
On a windy artificial pitch we hosted new friends at Kings Park Dynamos U10 on Wednesday 5th Feb 2014.
I saw it as an opportunity to try players in unfamiliar positions without the normal pressure of a league game.
As it turns out, it worked perfectly. All the players had a great time & enjoyed their new roles.
We scored 9 goals & kept a clean sheet. KPD are a new team and obviously lacked our experience, but they had some talented players & will be very handy once they have got to grips with this level.
In the second half we put some lovely passing movements together & some of the recent training exercises started to come through.
A very pleasing afternoons work!

05/02/14 Friendly fixture
We are due to play a friendly fixture this afternoon v a new U10 Kings Park Dynamos side at our training pitch.
Hoping the weather holds off as it has been a very stormy 24 hrs in Dorset!
Match Report : 02/02/14 Bournemouth Electric 4 Greenfields YFC 1

We played a match (at last) against Bournemouth Electric (away). A very heavy pitch & a cold morning, but at least we got to play after 6 weeks off!
We made a great start and almost scored straight from the kick off with a lovely passing move right down the pitch. After that, Electric hit the post & we hit the bar before they got a very lucky break after Joe (in goal) tried to clear and the ball rebounded off an Electric player into the back of the net!
Unbelievably, another lucky goal went in against us after a very speculative cross from the wing got blown by the wind straight over our unlucky keepers head! This was a blow and we then let 2 further goals in before half time.
During the half time team talk, I challenged our players to put up a stronger showing second half and try not to let any more goals in. Not only did they rise to this challenge, we scored through a low shot from Ed (on his debut). We won the second half 1-0 and went home happy to have had a good run around & achieved some of our targets.
